You guys are so mainstream/too young/uncool.

I remember the earlier psychedelic era ultra cartoons.

Just off the top of my head...
Battle of the planets

Spartakus and the sun beneath the sea

D&D (this is better than the opening)

and king of the WTF?

Ulysses 31

Or perhaps I should say UlysseeeEEEeeeEEEeeeEEEes...

I've got some fond memories of the InHumanoids, as well as the Pirates of Dark Water. It's a shame they didn't make more of ther latter, it had a pretty decent adventure plot, and those are hard to find.

Inhumanoids. Ugh.
I saw that far too young.
Something about people being digested inside the stomach of a giant monster, transformations, shit bursting out of the ground...
No. Not child-friendly.

I used to be all about He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. One thing I never got is what Skeletor was doing that was so evil? Granted, I was a kid at the time, but other than having a girlfriend with the word "evil" in her name and trying to take over Eternia, why was he the bad guy? What if Skeletor actually had well thought-out ideas and would be a better ruler? Sure, he was kind of stupid, but so was everyone else on that show.
In this moment, I am Ur-phoric. Not because of any phony god’s blessing. But because, I am enlightened by my int score.

Ha! I have a little sister, so I got the total experience -- My Little Ponies, Glo Friends, Care Bears, Rainbow Brite, Strawberry Shortcake.

The Glo Friends were badass. They rode in a giant turtle that our G.I. Joes used as a hovercraft.

I've been introducing my two-year-old daughter to the strangest of all cartoons.

David the Gnome - my wife deescribed it as an animated House without the snark.

Speaking of all this nostalgia has reminded me of two childhood shows, one I loved, Papa Beaver's Storytime, though I think I was older than the target audience when it was made, and one I never really cared for, Sharon, Lois, and Bram's Elephant Show; the only thing I remember about the latter, aside from a few generalities, was that the guy, Bram I assume, looked just a bit like Billy Mays and the theme song.

*My spell checker thinks this word is supposed to be "Alderamin", weird.

Reboot is weak tea, and already mentioned. I see you and raise you Mask

Mind you I don't see how I can do better than Ulysses I mean he has a pistol that is a light sabre, he stabs things with his gun damnit! No Jeep-Boat beats that.

I see your Darkwing Duck and raise you a prior instance of Count Duckula The intro does not suffice however to describe the great Duckula.

I see your Skeleton Warriors and raise you the NOT "Real" Ghostbusters that made a run on the franchise name before the "Real" ones did.

I see your Centurions and raise you the disturbing almost Aryan superiority flick, Fire And Ice

And I see your Dinosaucers and raise you Wizards

Count Duckula? Pfft, not even near absurd.

I'll see your Count Duckula and overpower it with BANANA MAN!

To take this one step further, we shall go to crazy with DANGERmouse.

Yes, the "danger" must be screamed.

You might want to lean to exerts and opening themes before the gendarms put the boot in.

But you bastard, I was holding those in reserve!

Still Dangermouse is strong but cannot trump Duckula since Duckula is a spin off of Dangermouse and therefore stronger in absurdity. But dangermouse has a dark secret to become more absurd.

Revealed at five minutes The real Dangermouse
And later. Dangermouse in retirement appears here (don't bother watching all of that, he is dangermouse, that's the entire gag).

Banana man is indeed mighty if for no other reason than it is made by the Goodies. Though they lose credibility because Bill Oddie went on to become a televised elderly bird watching geek and was hunted down for his crimes.

Fortunately I held reserve anti Banana man weapons in the form of both the indomitable Roger Ramjet and Super Ted which sadly I could not find in its original Welsh for extra power, fortunately it powers up since the voice of Spotty the alien is John Pertwee.

BananaMan and Danger Mouse were sunday morning cartoons here. Those and He-Man. You can still hear people quoting BananaMan. I miss those days.

3 words. Fear them. use them for good or for awesome.

Eek the Cat

it is how heathcliff and Garfield should have been.

Also on a related note, I remember a show which used to come on in India. It was obviously an import.

A live-action show in which the teenagers get jacked into the net in giant mechas to fight viruses and stuff.

they'd go into electronic equipment and the likes as well. can't remember the name of this show. All the actors were western. Don't know if it was american show or a european show. I really couldn't tell the accents apart way back when.

Cynic, what is "SuperHuman Samurai Syber Squad"? Now, I'll take obscure classics for 400.

With the voice of Tim Curry, to boot.

Also, some other gems:
T-Bag and the Revenge of the T Set
The Sooty Show

Note: I saw much earlier seasons of Sooty than that one.

You want to bring live action AND puppets into this? Those Frost and goodies references were just background damnit!

Well now you've done it. The Americans would have missed out on Agro systematically abusing his co-hosts

Don't make me get all Muppet Babies on you.
